Small vascular malformations of the brain: their relationship to unexpected death, hydrocephalus and mental deficiency.

Small vascular malformations of the brain have been increasingly often recognized in recent years as possible sources of intracranial hemorrhage, especially in young people (1-6). There are many other problems in connection with these lesions. It is the purpose of this paper to illustrate hy means of case studies some of the local results of these malformations and also to discuss the multiple form and its relationship to generalized vascular disturbance of the brain. The association of these malformations with dysgeneses of the nervous tissue will also be discussed.
